September has arrived, and KARHU is preparing for the Autumn Equinox with the launch of the new Polar Night collection. The inspiration for this release comes from the Deep North, where autumn marks the beginning of a six-month period during which the sun never rises.

In these areas closer to the North Pole, the nights are darker and last longer. When the sun doesn't shine for weeks, it becomes incredibly easy to lose sense of time and space. The inhabitants of these regions engage in a variety of community activities to maintain a firm grip on reality, and avoid “polar madness”. The care and attention dedicated to finding light in a season of darkness brings these communities together, and makes the upcoming season of the Midnight Sun even more precious.

The photo shoot for the Polar Night collection was created by Justine Leenarts and creative director Lisa Anne Stuyfzand. Their creation combines product-specific imagery and atmospheric photography, to evoke the feeling of "polar madness".
